Public Buildings and accommodation

To prevent health and safety risks and enhance the built environment the City’s Health Service monitor the maintenance of housing, public building and accommodation.

Public Buildings

All public buildings such as churches, recreation centres, pubs, halls and function centres are inspected on a regular basis by the City’s Health Service to ensure compliance with the Health (Public Buildings) Regulations 1992.

Large public events

The City’s Health service is involved in the approval process for large public events held within the City.

Lodging houses

Under the City’s Health Local Laws 1999, any building in the district used for lodging or boarding more than six people for a fee or reward, must be registered by the City.

Caravan parks and camping grounds

The City’s Health Service regularly inspects these parks to ensure compliance with the legislation.
