With our free parking facilities and easy access to public transport, you can enjoy a great night without the hassles of travelling to the CBD. 

Our modern 216-seat venue attracts around 14,000 patrons a year, and includes a wide range of hire facilities:

    13 July 2020: Holiday Showtime for Kids - ARRR is for Adventure

    Come onboard for a voyage with Pirateman Michael as he discovers crystal juggling balls while sailing an ocean of circus and fighting a raging bull along the way.

    If you haven’t seen “ARRR” is for Adventure yet, this would be the time to bring along the whole family and ‘sea’ this fantastic theatrical nonverbal circus show for children aged 4 to 94 years young.

    13 July 2020: Holiday Showtime for Kids - All the Lights

    Hula Hoop Fun!

    Join us on a journey of hooping, showcasing tricks and dancing to music. This show includes single hoops and multiple hoops with Guinness World Record holder (Spinderella) spinning multiple hoops!

    The workshop takes you through an introduction to hooping, hooping foundations, waist hooping, hand hooping and isolation tricks. We will together showcase the moves we have learnt in a mini hoop dance routine. Workshop is to music and the hula hoops are supplied.

    Prepare to be amazed as Cameron the Magician takes you through a magic show that has something for everyone, you never know he may just pull something out of his hat!

    Can you promise to keep a secret?!
    The show is followed by a 30 minute workshop where Cameron will be sharing some of his top secrets to becoming a master magician. We hope you're ready!

Annual program

DRPAC hosts a range of performances throughout the year. All coming shows can be viewed through the Events tab, or on the Events Calendar.

Monthly Features

This diverse season is defined by high calibre professional performances either from interstate or local production companies and individuals. These are often included in national tours and/or state wide tours.

The shows are held once a month, commence in February and cover at least 10 months of the year. Most shows are evening performances but do vary. More details are included on the Events Calendar and bookings can be made online.

Morning Melodies

Morning Melodies is a monthly series of performances tailored for those who are young at heart. If you love live music and entertainment, then this is just the ticket!

Entry price includes morning tea which is served at 10.15am. Performances start at 11am and run for 1hour.

School Holidays

During most school holidays DRPAC presents at least one show/event specifically tailored for children aged 5-12 years of age.
There are generally two performances of the same show, both on the same weekday. Times can vary so it is advisable to check the current Events Calendar.

International Series

This program of occasional events exists to present shows with an international flavour, though has particular emphasis on World Music. Features up to four performances per year.

Corporate Sponsorship Opportunities

DRPAC attracts approximately 16,000 people per annum, so would be suitable for businesses/sponsors keen to target their products and services to large audiences within the children, adults and seniors demographic areas.

Dance studio for hire

The Dance Studio at Don Russell Performing Arts Centre in Thornlie is available to hire for performing arts activities.

The 7.5m x 11.5m studio has:

  • a sprung wooden floor
  • full length mirrors
  • a ballet bar.

The studio and adjacent foyer have cold refrigerated air-conditioning and there’s plenty of free parking outside.

Theatre information

Don Russell Performing Arts Centre is the premier theatre venue in Perth’s eastern suburbs.

Owned and managed by the City of Gosnells, this purpose built performing arts facility has a comfortable 210 seat theatre and a fully equipped dance studio. The intimate theatre boasts excellent acoustics, cushioned tiered seating and clear sightlines from almost every seat in the house.

Up to date equipment, professional staff and an invaluable volunteers group combine to make every event a success.

Theatre

It features comprehensive audio and lighting systems, including an audio loop for the hearing impaired. Qualified lighting and audio technicians are provided. The first two rows of removable seating provide staging options for concerts and seminars.

The following dimensions are standard and exclusive of wing space:

Our fabulous volunteers manage the kitchen and provide an ushering service during shows. If you would like to become a DRPAC volunteer, please contact the centre.

The centre has reverse cycle air conditioning for year round comfort. ACROD parking bays, easy access toilets and wheelchair access to the theatre are provided for people with disabilities.

Morning Melodies - Dean Martin & Friends with Mike Peden - Wed 5 Aug 2020

Dean martin was and still is loved by millions of fans around the world , his smooth tones , sense of humour and good looks made him a huge hit with everyone. Dean started from a humble background and went on to become one of the worlds greatest entertainers ever.

Mike Peden brings back those wonderful tones and has performed his show at many venues around Perth including all the glitz and glamour of the crown casino ballroom. Singing Dean's 3 classic number one hit songs such as 'that's amour a' , 'memories are made of this' and of coarse Dean's signature tune everybody loves 'somebody' as well as many more favourites from other entertainers from that era. if you enjoy singing along to dino songs then this is the show for you.

Brenton Fosdike has been in the Entertainment Industry for 40 years. In that time he has performed across Australia, throughout Europe and in South East Asia.

Today he will entertain you with a tribute to Neil Diamond, performing all of his classic hit songs including 'Sweet Caroline', 'Cracklin Rosie' , I'm a Believer' and the list goes on with songs that will remain timeless.

Morning Melodies - Beatles Songbook - Wed 19 Aug 2020

Few bands have made the impact that was created by The Beatles, they defined the 60's and their influence is still felt today. They created such classics as Yesterday, Hey Jude, Nowhere Man and Let it Be among many other classics. They were innovative in so many ways.

Stewart Herbertson is a local musician and has been a Beatles fan for as long as he can remember. In this performance Stewart shares his favourite songs from the Beatles songbook; gives you insight into their creation and shares his extensive knowledge of the background of the songs. With an acoustic guitar and an incredible voice, an enjoyable time is guaranteed. So please come and be prepared to sing along to some of the greatest songs in recorded popular music history.
