The Community Funding Program reflects Council’s commitment to support community organisations to deliver quality programs and services to the local community, and assist individuals to achieve in their chosen field of endeavour.

There are two categories in the Community Funding Program which are available for community organisations and individuals to apply for. It is highly recommended that applicants read the 'Guidelines for Applicants' document which provides information about the requirements of the program.


Category 1 – Community Grants

This category provides funding for community organisations and individuals to support the delivery of programs, events, training, minor capital projects and the purchase of equipment.

Category 1 has two levels of funding available to the community.

Level 1 – To support small-scale, local initiatives, this category will support up to 100% of your Total Project Cost, with a maximum grant of $2,000 available. Complete a Level 1 application

Opening date - Open all year

Closing date - Level 1 applications are accepted all year round, i.e. no closing date.

 

Level 2 – To support community projects run by eligible not-for-profit organisations, this category will support up to 50% of your Total Project Cost, with a maximum grant of $8,000 available. Complete a Level 2 application

Opening date - Wednesday 1 March 2023
Closing date - Thursday 6 April 2023 at 5pm 

Information Session for Level 2 Round will hold on Wednesday 15 March.  It is highly recommended for any clubs or community groups that are interested in applying for the Level 2 grant funding to attend this workshop to get the requirements for the funding applications.

Category 2 – Competition Sponsorships

This category provides funding assistance to support individuals who are representing either Western Australia or Australia in their chosen field of endeavour. Applicants must be either residents or ratepayers of the City of Gosnells.

Complete a Competition Sponsorships application.


Category 3 and 4  Education and Chaplaincy

The City also provides direct support to schools for Education Scholarships and Chaplaincy Programs. These categories are not open to the general public.

In previous years, the City's Education Scholarships provided financial support to one student and each of the secondary schools within the City's boundaries. In July 2022, this was expanded to include all local primary schools.

Information Sessions

Before Level 2 applications close in April and September, the City will provide an overview of the Community Funding Program for community organisations, based or operating in the City of Gosnells, who are considering applying for funding.

The City holds Community Funding Program Information Sessions at commencement of every round (see above for details).
