Total stock across the four libraries exceeds 130,000 items, with new titles arriving every week. Stock is supplied by the State Library of Western Australia, purchased with City funds, or donated by individuals and organisations. 

There is much to choose from, including:

  • Books, magazines, and comics/graphic novels
  • Daily and weekly newspapers
  • CDs and DVDs
  • Audio-books
  • Large print items
  • Puzzles, games and puppets
  • Engravers
  • Foreign language materials
  • Adult literacy and learning English materials
  • Council meeting minutes
  • Information on the City. 

You must be a member to borrow, but the good news is that it’s free to join! Click on the link to the left for more information about library membership.

The library catalogue can be searched online to locate specific items, or just to browse, and you can request any of the items you find (except reference items). 

If we don’t have the item you’re looking for we can try to source a copy through the state’s interlibrary loan system. There is no charge for this service. Please follow the link to the Request and Information Service page below.
