The City understands the importance of providing quality sporting fields for the community to access, and we have more than 25 playing fields which are used for a variety of sporting and recreational pursuits with more than 75 clubs utilising the reserves on a permanent basis.
Seasonal Hire
The sporting reserves are offered to sporting clubs on a seasonal basis. Before the commencement of each season, either Winter or Summer, each club must express their interest in hiring a sporting reserve. An information package can be viewed in the Related Links section at the bottom of this page.
Seasonal dates differ from year to year however they are generally based on the following:
- Winter Season – First week of April to last week of September.
- Summer Season – First week of October to last week of March
Between each season, Council requires a minimum of two weeks to carry out necessary maintenance works like removing posts and uncovering cricket pitches. This is known as the season changeover period.
Casual Hire    Â
The City's sports fields and reserves are available to a range of groups on a casual basis. When not being used by our sporting clubs for training and competition they are being used on a casual basis for special events such as family barbeques, birthdays, community fairs and events.
Booking confirmation is determined by assessing the suitability of the request, potential ground damage, impact on existing user groups and impact on the surrounding residents. A refundable bond (to cover potential reserve damage) may be required dependent on the activity, infrastructure and vehicle access. Please contact the bookings team for further information at facilitiesbookings@gosnells.wa.gov.au or 9397 3000.
