The City has a substantial collection of historic photographs dating back to the 1870s.
Many of the photos have been used in exhibitions at the City’s Orange Room and Museum, within brochures and documents produced by the City, and even in the local newspapers. Staff scan historic photos to make the images available online; they appear on the library catalogue. If you have any queries about the photographic collection, please contact the Heritage Collection Supervisor on 9397 3145.
Help us to expand the collection by allowing us to copy and make available locally relevant material that you are prepared to share. Staff like to hear from people who are able to provide further details or highlight an inaccuracy.
