Ashford Park

This neighbourhood reserve provides recreation opportunities including an upgraded playground with slides, swings and climbing equipment for children’s play and activities.

With generous open grassed areas, park users are able to enjoy informal ball games or other recreational pursuits.

The reserve is shaded by stands of native trees with a picnic area.

In the landscape design process, the landscape architect encountered a number of naturally growing mushrooms on the pre-developed site which provided the inspiration of the timber mushroom elements.  

The shape of the easily accessible path represents the mushroom cap and the paths in the middle represent the mushroom stem.
