Our History Boxes contain a variety of artifacts which highlight differences between life in the 20th Century and the world today. They address the History and Technology strands of lower and middle primary.

‘A Day in the Life of Emma Wilkinson’ contains a selection of domestic items and follows Emma as she goes about her daily activities and chores. Items include a sad iron, butter pats, a wash board and dolly stick. 

‘Learn and Play’ contains items used at school and resources that showcase the everyday lives of children in the local area. Items include a typewriter, slate boards, pen and ink, tin can telephones and knuckle bones.

'Communication' focuses on changing technology, from Morse Code to telephones. Items include a Morse Code machine, rotary and button telephones, mobile phones and a phone book.

The History Boxes are heavy duty, wheeled cases.

History Boxes can be borrowed for two weeks at a time. Extensions are possible and will depend on availability. Extensions must be arranged prior to the return date.

There is no charge to borrow the History Boxes, but if damaged or lost, costs will be incurred as per the City of Gosnells fees and charges schedule.
