Book Launch Party - "Diary of Lies" by Barbara Gurney

I'd like to be Katherine, thought seven-year-old Kate as she slumped over the rickety wooden box substituting for a desk. It sounds like a good name for a lady. A lady who has servants and a great big palace.

As "Just Kate" did her homework, she wished she could be Katherine Rebecca or maybe Katherine Suzanna. "Just Kate"! How horrible. After a cold meat sandwich and a glass of milk, eaten alone, she went to bed and dreamed of staircases with gold steps, long dresses, and people calling her Miss Katherine.

You are invited to the book launch party of Barbara Gurney's latest novel, "Diary of Lies", presented by Dragonfly Publishing. Barbara Gurney is a local author, and a permanent fixture in the Gosnells writing scene. Come celebrate with Barbara and friends as she unveils the diary of Kate Maxwell, a woman who colours outside of the lines to achieve her desires.

Follow in Kate's footsteps and live the lie you've been dreaming of by dressing as your alter-ego! Come as a pirate, a pauper, a princess - anything you can imagine for a party!

Light refreshments of tea, coffee, and biscuits will be served.

The event will take place in the Lyal Richardson Hall, next door to the Gosnells Knowledge Centre in the Agonis building.
