The City of Gosnells is hosting an afternoon of fun, free activities and art workshops for young people aged 10 – 18 years, plus the announcement of art award winners from the recent For Art’s Sake exhibition.

The event will be held from 3pm to 7pm on Friday 1 December at The Castle youth centre in Thornlie, and will include art workshop stations, photo booth, roaming ponies, a giant inflatable, dodgeball, barbecue and ice cream.

City of Gosnells Mayor Terresa Lynes said the event celebrated the importance of art in young people’s lives.

“Art is a great way for people of all ages to explore their creativity, express themselves, connect with people and try new things,” she said.

“For Art’s Sake celebrates the achievements of young, local artists, and encourages others in our community to get creative too. The artworks submitted to For Art’s Sake each year are always of a high standard and the participants deserve to be congratulated.”

The For Art’s Sake exhibition was recently displayed at the City’s Civic Centre, where community members voted for the winning artworks.
