IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Sunday’s Tropic Like It’s Hot sessions have been cancelled due to forecast extreme heat.

The City has made the difficult decision to cancel Sunday’s morning and afternoon sessions following consultation with experts and with safety in mind.

Sunday’s weather forecast at present is 43 degrees, with a total fire ban likely in place.

The health and safety of community members, event attendees, staff and contractors is the City’s number one priority.

People who have purchased tickets for Sunday’s sessions can either request a refund or turn up to either of the Saturday sessions with the Sunday tickets. Saturday’s sessions are held at 9am-12pm and 1:30pm-4:30pm. To request a refund for your Sunday tickets please email events@gosnells.wa.gov.au.

The City appreciates attendees’ understanding around this difficult decision – and we look forward to seeing you at Tropic Like It’s Hot this Saturday.

The coolest event on the City of Gosnells summer calendar is back – and it’s bigger and better than ever.

Tropic Like It’s Hot is bringing a family-friendly beach vibe, featuring more than 25 giant inflatable water slides, Supa-Soak Maze, obstacle and games arenas, Jolly Roger Pirate Ship, Mini Splash Zone for children under eight and more.

A DJ will play summer tunes, roaming performers will entertain the crowds and there will be photo opportunities with a mermaid and a red-hot Cadillac.

This popular pop-up water park will be at Sutherlands Park, Huntingdale, on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 February, for two sessions each day, from 9am – 12pm and 1.30pm – 4.30pm.

City of Gosnells Mayor Terresa Lynes said Tropic Like It’s Hot was always a fun day for the whole family, and a great way to beat the summer sizzle.

“Tropic Like It’s Hot is one of our most popular events, offering summer fun and entertainment for the whole community,” she said.

Mayor Lynes advised people to book their tickets as soon as possible, to avoid missing out.

“Make the most of it by aiming to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your scheduled session time and bring a gold coin for parking, and another coin for the bag drop, if you need it,” she said.

“Wear your bathers and bring a towel, change of clothes and shoes – and don’t forget to slip, slop, slap and slide!”

Attendees can buy food and drink from food trucks or bring along a picnic.

Tropic Like It's Hot is a City of Gosnells event, sponsored by Lotterywest and Great Beginnings Beckenham.

Tickets for each session are just $5 per person aged two years and over, including spectators.
