A section of Main Street, between Albany Highway and Lissiman Street in Gosnells, will close for eight weeks in October and November, for roadworks.

City of Gosnells Mayor David Goode said the road upgrade was part of the City’s ongoing improvements to the Gosnells Town Centre.

“While the temporary closure of this section of Main Street will be inconvenient for road users for a short time, the roadworks will result in a much safer stretch of road for vehicles and pedestrians,” he said.

“We would like to thank community members for their patience and understanding during this time.”

The works, scheduled to take place between 4 October and 29 November, will include the removal of parallel parking bays, the installation of a new raised plateau island with a pedestrian crossing suitable for people with disabilities, and new red asphalt and kerbs.
