Celebrate the Year of the Dragon at the upcoming City of Gosnells Lunar New Year event.

Held at Langford Park on Saturday 10 February and sponsored by Lotterywest, the event will recognise the diversity of the City of Gosnells community with family fun and entertainment including live music, dancing, a dragon train, food trucks and children’s entertainment.

City of Gosnells Mayor Terresa Lynes said the free event would delight young and old.

“The City of Gosnells Lunar New Year event should be a spectacular occasion,” she said.

“Everyone is welcome so come along and try your hand at traditional activities including lantern making and calligraphy, take your picture in the traditional dress photo booth, take a ride on the dragon train and enjoy the live entertainment including performances from local cultural groups as well as Jason Ji, a Perth-based, multi-genre guitarist.”

“The City of Gosnells is home to one of the most culturally diverse communities in WA, and events like this help celebrate and share our unique cultural heritage with others.”

The Lunar New Year is celebrated by millions of people around the world on the first new moon of the lunar calendar.

Sweet and savoury food trucks will be on site or guests can bring their own picnic. Tickets are not required.
