Gosnells business The Body Clinic has a fresh new look from the street, thanks to the first Small Business Shopfront Improvement Grant provided by the City of Gosnells.
The project is the first to be completed since the City introduced the grant last year.
Mayor Terresa Lynes said the project, to remove an unsightly grill and install a new accessible front door and secure windows, was a worthy recipient of the first grant.
“The funding provided by the City’s Small Business Shopfront Improvement Grant has helped make this business more accessible for people with disability, improved security and made the business more welcoming and attractive,” she said.
“This new grant is a simple but powerful way for the City to support local small businesses and commercial areas as a whole. Shopfronts that appear welcoming, safe and attractive have greater appeal to potential customers, and also benefit the look and feel of the whole street.”
The Body Clinic owners Justin and Tegan Engler thanked the City for its support. After completing renovations inside their clinic and having plans to expand the services they offer, being able to also refresh their shopfront was important to them.
"I operated this business from home for nine years so, when we moved here last year, it was important to make our shopfront just as comfortable and appealing to our existing and new customers,” Tegan said.
“Making the clinic more accessible to people with disability was really important to us and we were really pleased to use other local small businesses to complete the work,” Justin said.
