The City of Gosnells has welcomed a State Government announcement, which will result in hundreds of properties being connected to wastewater infrastructure in Kenwick and Maddington.

Mayor Terresa Lynes thanked the State Government and said the City had been campaigning for the sewer connections on behalf of residents and landowners for many years.

“We are absolutely thrilled that the State Government has committed to investing in the Kenwick and Maddington communities with this essential infrastructure,” she said.

“Kenwick and Maddington are located close to railway and road infrastructure and are already zoned for urban infill development. This wastewater infrastructure was the last missing link in allowing local landowners to realise the potential of their properties and create more housing for our community.

“We were particularly delighted to hear that Kenwick and Maddington are first in line for this infrastructure, with works scheduled to begin next year.”
