City scores with Gosnells Festival of Football

A Festival of Football, culminating in a big-screen live broadcast of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Final, is headed to Gosnells.

The newly developed Lissiman Street Activation Hub, Gosnells – adjacent to Ulti-Mech – will light up on Sunday 20 August for an afternoon of football-focused fun, with a screening of the legendary sports film Bend It Like Beckham in the afternoon, before the FIFA Women’s World Cup Final kicks off at 6pm.

In addition to big-screen entertainment, there’ll be plenty of fun for all, with a range of attractions and entertainment including kids’ soccer-themed activities and face painting as well as food and beverage options.

“We are delighted to be staging the Gosnells Festival of Football and providing a soccer-themed day of entertainment to coincide with the Final of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup,” Mayor Terresa Lynes said.

“Our rich, multi-cultural community has an affiliation with the world game and the Gosnells Festival of Football will provide a great opportunity for young and old and everyone in between to have a wonderful afternoon out and celebrate an historic occasion.”
