Volunteering WA connects thousands of volunteers to many community organisations. They provide a range of resources, services and support so that people in Western Australia are aware of, and understand, the nature and scope of volunteer activity.

Things to consider when you are looking for a volunteer role:

  • Does the purpose of the organisation match your own values and beliefs?
  • Does the organisation have volunteer insurance?
  • Is the role specific and clear?
  • Does the organisation  provide you with information about its purpose and activities?

Unlike paid staff, volunteers are not covered by awards or work place agreements.  However, volunteers do have basic rights and responsibilities.

Read the Volunteer Rights and Responsibilities checklist to view those endorsed by Volunteering Australia.
