Club support during National Volunteer Week

Local community groups and sporting clubs can learn how to engage volunteers and build their volunteer base by signing up for a series of free webinars being delivered by the City of Gosnells.

In recognition of National Volunteer Week, the City has partnered with Inclusion Solutions to deliver four 30-minute webinars over two weeks, with funding from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.

National Volunteer Week runs from Monday 18 to Sunday 24 May and this year’s theme is ‘Changing Communities. Changing Lives.’

“Volunteers have a vital role in just about every community group and sporting club,” Mayor David Goode said.

“These webinars will feature a range of topics, including engaging and recruiting volunteers, running inclusive events and strengthening your current membership base.

“As many community groups and sporting clubs are not operating due to COVID-19, it could be a good time to upskill and improve your club’s capacity for when the restrictions are lifted and activities can resume,” he said.
