The City of Gosnells is committed to creating events that are inclusive, accessible and equally enjoyable for the entire community.

Our team aims to ensure all our guests feel respected, welcomed, and comfortable when visiting major events within the City of Gosnells.

We welcome your suggestions for how we can continue to improve our accessible offering.

Sensory Safe Space

The Sensory Safe Space provides a calm area away from the main event for our visitors who might require a bit of escapism.

A range of children’s activities will be available in a relaxing and comfortable environment.

  • You will find it at the Mills Park Library, located in the Mills Park Centre.
  • Open from 5pm – 9pm each day
  • All visitors under the age of 14 must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times whilst in the space.

Social Story

For the first time at a City of Gosnells major event, Fusion Food and Culture Festival has a social story.  Social Stories aid people with autism, learning and/or intellectual disability prepare for a visit to the Festival.

Our social story provides details relating to the event and what to expect as a visitor.

Access

This event is free to attend, no ticket is required.

There are solid pathways surrounding Mills Park Oval.  There are no gates or doorways to pass through to access the event site

Please be mindful that this is an outdoor event on grassed areas so there may be uneven surfaces.

Transport

There are ACROD parking bays at Mills Park Centre carpark for ACROD cardholders, if these are taken, there is also a drop off zone in the same carpark. Unfortunately, the shuttle bus cannot take wheelchairs.

Restrooms

Existing accessible toilets can be found at the Mills Park Centre and additional, accessible portable toilets will be installed on the event site.

All portable toilets are gender neutral.

Auslan Interpreting

The main Fusion stage will have Auslan interpreters for speeches and verbal performances.

Multi-Faith Worship Space

This year we have created a Multi-Faith Worship Space in the Mills Park library. It is a non-denominational worship space available for prayer, meditation and reflection.

  • You will find it at the Mills Park Library, located in the Mills Park Centre.
  • Open from 5pm – 9pm each day
  • A multi-purpose space, with the provision of loose seating.
