Ranger Services are responsible for upholding community and public safety by using public education and enforcing state and local laws, including:

- Dog Act 1976
- Dogs Local Law 2011
- Local Government Act 1995
- Litter Act 1979
- Parking Local Law 2012
- Control of Vehicles (Off-Road Areas) Act 1978
Hours of duty
- 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday
- 8.30am to 5pm, weekends and Public Holidays

After hours the Rangers telephone diverts to the City’s after hours call centre.
For emergencies please contact the Police on 131 444. The Police will then contact Ranger Services if required.
Rangers are available to attend schools as part of the education program.
The program promotes responsible pet ownership and the Ranger's role and is available to all schools within the City. Presentations can be tailored to suit specific needs by the school or teacher. Contact Ranger Services on 9397 3000 for more information.
