Staying home to prevent the spread of COVID-19 doesn’t mean you have to disconnect from your community or stop doing many of the activities you love.

In fact, you could discover a new passion or make new friends online, as the City of Gosnells invites you to join its Home But Not Alone online events program.

This free program is packed with interactive activities, fitness challenges, shared resources, free workshops, couch crafts, health and wellbeing tips, watch parties, virtual happy hours and lounge sessions.

Mayor David Goode encouraged people to connect with their community through this new online network, dedicated to boosting kindness and optimism during a particularly challenging time.

“People in the City of Gosnells have shown immense community spirit when they’ve come together at our traditional events and Home But Not Alone provides a new way to foster that same spirit and energy,” he said.

“There is a huge ongoing line-up of activities, including challenges to engage with people in the comfort of their own homes, while giving people of all ages an opportunity to enjoy social interaction, and respecting distancing requirements.

“Life seems very strange at the moment but we have to find new ways to connect and do what Australians do best – support each other in times of crisis.”

There is something for everyone from children to seniors and, as the City is unable to bring members of the community together physically during this pandemic, Programs and Events staff are reaching out to WA-based celebrities to provide messages of support or inspiration.
