Hester Park

Hester Park encompasses almost 50 hectares of the Djarlgarra (Canning River) foreshore and floodplain in Langford, immediately upstream of the Nicholson Road bridge.

Since 2000, the City and the Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group, with the help of many community volunteers, have revegetated large areas of the river foreshore and floodplain.

Astley Street River Foreshore

The City and the Armadale Gosnells Landcare group commenced revegetation of the degraded river foreshore and floodplain of Djarlgarra (the Canning River) in a joint project with the Western Australian Planning Commission near Astley Street, Gosnells, in 2001.

Homestead Park

The Djarlgarra (Canning River) foreshore in Homestead Park was in a highly degraded state before significant weed control and revegetation works were started in 2006 by the City and the Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group.

John Okey Davis Park

The foreshore of Djarlgarra (the Canning River) in John Okey Davis park has been substantially improved from its highly degraded, weed-infested condition.

Tom Bateman Wetlands

The need for earth fill for the construction of Roe Highway, adjacent to the Tom Bateman Sports Complex, provided the opportunity to create an artificial wetland to improve the quality of stormwater leaving the Canning Vale Industrial Estate.
