City Rates

Rates are an annual payment made by property owners for living in a Local Government area and contribute towards the many public work projects undertaken by the City.

Rates pay for the upkeep and maintenance of the City's investment in infrastructure:

roads,
paths,
parks,
sports grounds,

Rates help fund the many community services the City provides:

recreational facilities,
youth and family services,

arts and events programs.

There is an obligation on property owners to ensure that Council has the correct address for the service of notices.

Each year, the City issues a  Notice of Intention to Levy Differential Rates. This notice is supported by a statement outlining the reasons for adopting the differential rates on various categories of property within the City.
