Fact v Fiction with Author Kasey Whitelaw

Let’s connect our love of science and nature with Kasey Whitelaw, an author and marine biologist. Kasey will be blending storytelling with marine biology in this interactive presentation including real ocean specimens.

During this interactive session, children will:

1. Meet a marine biologist and learn about life beneath the waves.
2. Discover books that blend fascinating ocean facts with imaginative storytelling.
3. Become ocean detectives, using clues to work out which species laid them.
4. Test their knowledge in a fun ocean-themed Myth Busters game of true or false.
5. Explore a collection of real ocean specimens and ask questions about marine life.
6. Take part in an ocean treasure hunt, solving clues and riddles along the way.
7. Design and draw their own mythical sea creature (and enjoy a craft activity if time allows).

Bookings: Bookings essential

Parents, please note that all children 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for all library programs and events.

Bookings are required for participating children only unless otherwise stated. Parents do not need to book a ticket for themselves.
