Saiful Islam was elected to the City of Gosnells Council in 2023 and is committed to serving the community and representing the interests of local residents.
Saiful lives in the City of Gosnells with his wife and is raising their children in the local community. This gives him a strong understanding of the issues and opportunities that matter most to local families.
He holds a Bachelor of Business and a Master of Commerce (Accounting) and has more than 10 years of experience in the Australian Public Service, where he currently serves in an Executive role.
Saiful is a member of the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee and previously served as Chair of the Committee, helping to strengthen good governance, accountability, and financial oversight within the City.
He is also a volunteer firefighter with the Gosnells Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade and has assisted emergency response efforts during bushfires in the Kenwick and Kalamunda areas. Through his volunteer service, he has gained firsthand experience supporting local communities during emergencies and working alongside emergency services personnel.
In addition, Saiful serves as a Justice of the Peace and is actively involved in community initiatives that promote inclusion, diversity, and community wellbeing.
Saiful is passionate about community safety, responsible financial management, environmental sustainability, and ensuring the City of Gosnells remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
