Be cyber security aware with Safe City

The City of Gosnells is offering residents one-on-one device health checks, to help improve their cyber security.

Device health checks will be delivered at City libraries or in residents’ homes from September 2026 to May 2027.

Mayor Terresa Lynes said cyber security was an increasing area of concern for the community.

“Through the Safe City initiative, the City of Gosnells has long equipped residents with knowledge about how to improve their personal safety, and home and car security, to reduce crime in our neighbourhoods,” she said.

“The growth of cybercrime means our community needs additional knowledge to stay safe. These one-on-one device health checks will support residents to regularly install software updates, enable multi-factor authentication and create strong, unique passphrases.”

Other cyber security initiatives to be delivered by the City will include workshops and printed resources.

This Cyber Security Awareness Support for Vulnerable Groups project received grant funding from the Australian Government.
