Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to 4.30pm.  The centre is closed on Public Holidays.

Programs and Services include:

  • Capacity building programs for seniors including brain training, exergaming, pole walking, chair yoga, singing, tai chi and more.
  • Monthly activities such as workshops and outings
  • Meals on Wheels, in-centre dining (lunch only) and hairdresser by appointment - see the Whats Here tab above

Volunteering gets you involved in your community while helping others.  The Addie Mills Centre provides many programs and services to seniors and people with disability that require volunteers. If you’re interested in volunteering, please contact the Addie Mills Centre.

In centre dining

Many people dislike preparing a meal to eat by themselves. As eating is an important social activity, the Addie Mills Centre provides a midday meal Monday to Friday so that seniors and people with a disability can enjoy the company of others.

Bookings for lunch are essential, so to avoid disappointment you are required to book before 10:30am on the day you would like to come in.

Subsidised meal prices are offered to customers assessed as being eligible for the Commonwealth Home Support program.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels

The Meals on Wheels service provides a freshly cooked nutritionally balanced meal delivered to your door by a volunteer. Options include a soup, a main meal and a sweet. Meals are delivered to your home daily Monday to Friday.  Weekend meals are delivered on Fridays. 


To access Meals on Wheels, people need to live in the City of Gosnells and meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • 65 years or older,
  • Have a disability  
  • Require assistance short term with meal preparation


Clients can self-refer or alternatively referrals can be received from - hospitals, doctors, social workers, service providers, relatives, friends, carers or neighbours.

The Commonwealth Home Support Program is a government funded program to help older people stay independent and in their homes and communities for longer. Clients may be eligible for a subsidy from the Commonwealth Home Support Program if they are 65 years or over and are referred by My Aged Care – 1800 200 422

On occasion, clients may not be eligible under the Commonwealth Home Support Program guidelines but may still need assistance with meals if they have a disability or require the service for a short period of time, i.e. recent admission to hospital or following surgery. On these occasions, at the discretion of the Centre Supervisor, clients may be accepted on a Full Cost Recovery basis.

Social Club

The Addie Mills Social Club operates from the main hall of the Centre.

New members (over 55) are welcome. The club organises a wide range of activities.

Transport and referral services


A transport service is available to take people to and from the Addie Mills Centre.  A modern, comfortable bus with attendant can pick up and deliver home 17 customers per day.

This service is offered Monday to Friday free of charge.

The City senior services team is committed to ensuring that customers are provide with timely and accurate information in relation to services available to meet their individual needs. In the event the services are not within the scope of the City, customers are referred to appropriate agencies.

Brain Training – cancelled

When: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 10am – 11.30am

A fun social group engaged in stimulating activities including cards and board games, puzzles and bingo.

Along with keeping the mind active it is an opportunity to meet new people. Morning tea included.

Chair Yoga – cancelled

When: Mondays and Thursdays 11am - 12pm

Yoga has been shown to increase strength and balance and helps reduce the risk of falls.

Chair yoga uses a chair for stability to achieve the yoga poses while having the same health benefits.

Added benefits include flexibility, reduced stress and social interaction.

Facilitated by an accredited Yoga instructor it is a fun and gentle way to achieve great health results. 

Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at 10:30am before the class starts at 11am. 


This programs is open to City of Gosnells residents aged 55+.

Exergaming – cancelled

When: Thursdays, 9:30am - 11am

Exergaming is a mix of low impact exercising and games using an XBOX. There are games to suit everyone. It is fun and interactive and requires no previous experience or skill. Ask for a demo.

This is a small group looking for more seniors to help in their team challenges.

Grow and Share Cart – cancelled

When: Weekdays from 8am to 4.30pm

Grow and Share community carts are popping up all over Australia and we think it’s time Gosnells got involved.

Growing a supportive community can start right from your own home. Do you have a laden lemon tree or more silver beet than you could possible eat? Maybe you have a cupboard filled with glass jars, spare knitting wool or more pot plants than you can count? If you have more than you need, we encourage you to share your bounty and offer what you can to others.

The City has launched our Grow and Share Cart and we encourage you to stop by, give what you can, take what you need and help grow and nurture our Gosnells community.

Heartfulness Meditation for Seniors

When: Thursdays, 1pm - 2pm

Join an experienced practitioner for a beautifully simple meditation, which is proven to reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep and enhance emotional intelligence. Finish your session with a cuppa and chat with the group.

This program is open to City of Gosnells residents aged 55+.

Mahjong at Addie Mills – cancelled

When: Tuesdays 10am - 11:30am

Share some time with friends and settle in with a cup of tea or coffee for a fun game of Mahjong.

Experienced and friendly players are happy to assist new-comers to the game.

Older, Wiser, Livelier – OWL Series

When: The second and fourth Friday of the month

OWL is a series of free healthy aging workshops that meet the needs of of the older, wiser and livelier members of our community.

This series delivers a variety of relevant and engaging information in a welcoming social setting, and provide great opportunities to learn something new.

Attendees are encouraged to bring theirown cup/mug for morning tea.

Open Eye Meditation – cancelled

When: Tuesdays, 9am – 10am

Start your day with a peaceful and inspiring hour of meditation.

Lead by experienced facilitators, participants will be guided through a relaxing meditation and offered a mindfulness card to take home to encourage further contemplation.

A light morning tea will be provided.

Pole Walking – cancelled

When: Tuesday and Thursday, 8.30am to 9.30am

Come along and join in a fun interactive walking group which utilises the use of poles to provide a low impact cardio exercise while enjoying the company of likeminded people. Pole walking is an enjoyable method of walking using specially designed poles that exercise both the upper and lower body. Poles are available for loan or you’re welcome to use your own.

When: Tuesday by appointment, May - October

City of Gosnells and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) will visit your home to advise on fire and crime prevention measures that can be implemented in your home.

The advice provided in the supplied checklists can make the difference in preventing a fire or home burglary or theft. It is often the simple things that can get overlooked but an audit brings them to your attention.

Residents are provided with a free fire blanket, crime prevention information kit, and completed checklists. A battery operated smoke detector will be installed if required. 

Participants must reside within the City of Gosnells and be aged 55 and over.

Singing for Fun – cancelled

When: Tuesday 2.30pm – 4pm

This group is for those who enjoy singing. Singing is not only great for your body and posture, it’s wonderful for the soul.

This welcoming and social group explore different musical genres with the help of an experienced facilitator. What could be more fun that singing in a group, learning new skills and making new friends?

No musical experience is required and a light afternoon tea will be provided.
