Who needs to notify

Property owners:
If you personally sold or transferred rateable land in the Gosnells district, the obligation to notify falls on you - unless your agent has already done so.
Real estate agents:
If you acted as agent in the sale or disposal, you may give notice on behalf of the principal. If you do, the principal's obligation is satisfied — but the principal remains responsible for ensuring notice is given.
What you'll need to provide
Section 9.68(2) of the Act specifies that the written notice must contain:
- A plan or description of the land (including address and/or lot number)
- The full name and address of the purchaser or person to whom the land was disposed
- The date of the sale or disposal
Please also attach a copy of Certificate of Title. This is the official document issued by Landgate confirming legal ownership of the property. A copy is typically provided to both parties at settlement. If you do not have a copy, you can obtain one through Landgate.
