Join us for six fun and engaging events as part of TeenLAB!

From creative making and hands-on technology to craft, design, and sustainability, each session is a chance to learn something new, try new skills, and connect with like-minded teens. Come along, get inspired, and discover what you can create!

Session Topics

Knit Yourself a Better World: Thursday 13 August, 5pm – 6pm
This beginner-friendly workshop explores simple ways to reduce waste and microplastics in your home through practical, sustainable alternatives. Perfect for total beginners, you'll leave with a handmade cleaning cloth, basic knitting skills, and ideas for creating a more sustainable household.

Lego Robotics: Thursday 20 August, 5pm – 6pm

Build, code, and bring your creations to life in this hands-on LEGO Robotics workshop. Using LEGO robotics kits, participants will explore the basics of engineering, programming, and problem-solving while designing and testing their own robotic builds.

Toy Taxidermy: Thursday 27 August, 5pm – 6pm

Get creative and give old toys a new life in this quirky upcycling workshop. Perfect for teens who enjoy making, crafting, and thinking outside the box, this hands-on session encourages artistic expression in a fun and supportive environment.

Print Making Workshop: Thursday 3 September, 4:30pm – 6pm
Get creative and explore the art of printmaking in this hands-on workshop designed for teens. Learn simple printing techniques to create your own unique designs, patterns, and artwork using a variety of tools and materials.

Mindflight7 VR Experience: Thursday 10 September, 5pm – 6pm
Step into the world of virtual reality in this exciting hands-on workshop with MindLight7 VR. Designed for teens, this interactive session offers a fun introduction to VR while encouraging creativity, curiosity, and problem-solving.

Insect Mania Embroidery: Thursday 17 September, 5pm – 6pm
In this hands-on workshop, you'll stitch your own insect-inspired design and explore how nature influenced Victorian fashion, art, and collecting. Perfect for beginners and creative teens, you'll leave with new embroidery skills and a project to continue at home.

  • Bookings will open to the public from13 July 2026.
  • Participants must meet the advertised age requirements.
  • Parents, please note that all children 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for all library programs and events.
  • Bookings are required for participating children only unless otherwise stated. Parents do not need to book a ticket for themselves.
