About the Artist: Vaughn Roberts

Perth-based artist Vaughn Roberts invites you to contemplate the beauty of aging in his latest exhibition, "Echoes – A Tapestry of Words and Wisdom." Inspired by the natural world's cycles, Roberts explores human connection and the passage of time through powerful black, white, and grey portraits.

Focusing on details like wrinkles and creases, Roberts captures the essence of his subjects, often elderly figures. He uses large canvases to emphasise the physical signs of aging and invites viewers to see the stories etched on their faces.

"Our society undervalues our elders," says Roberts. "My goal is to connect with people and inspire them to cherish loved ones through art."

The exhibition also features poetry by Sioban Timmer, inspired by Roberts' work. Together, their art forms create a "tapestry of words and wisdom," encouraging reflection on life's journey.
