Self-confessed ‘fat funny man’ Dave O’Neil is bringing his critically-acclaimed stand-up show, Overweight Lightweight, to Don Russell Performing Arts Centre (DRPAC) in Thornlie this August.
Known for his regular appearances on the popular TV shows Spicks and Specks and Have You Been Paying Attention, Dave has been a mainstay on the Melbourne International Comedy Festival circuit, having shared his cheeky larrikin humour with audiences for nearly three decades.
Mayor Terresa Lynes said it was a coup for DRPAC to secure such a renowned comedy act.
“It’s fantastic that the City can bring well-known acts like Dave O’Neil to the heart of Thornlie,” Mayor Lynes said.
“Whether you’re looking for your next catch up with friends or even a date night, this is sure to be a fun night out with plenty of laughs.”
Dave will deliver 90-minutes of comedic gold on the DRPAC stage on Thursday 21 August, where he will also be joined by his friend and podcast co-host Brad Oakes.
