A $242,000 upgrade to Boyle Playground has made the Orange Grove park suitable for all abilities and brought the community together in celebration.

Mayor Terresa Lynes said the playground was the latest all-abilities park built as part of the City’s commitment to provide 10 all-abilities playgrounds across the City of Gosnells.

“This is a wonderful upgrade to the park that I’m sure will be well enjoyed by the local community for many years to come, and I’m really impressed by the number of children celebrating here at the park opening,” she said.

“Ensuring everyone in our community can enjoy spending time at a park and playing together, regardless of ability, is very important to the City.

“I especially want to acknowledge the support of Boral for donating a fabulous rocker truck for Boyle Playground, which has proven to be an absolute hit with the kids.”

New play equipment installed as part of the upgrade included an all-abilities basket, swing, dual junior slides, access ramps, interactive play panels and a climbing net.

Rubber soft fall, shade sails, accessible drinking fountain and seating completed the playground upgrade, all enclosed by fencing to keep kids safe from the road.

As well as the playground, the City installed new connecting paths, off-street parking bays including an accessible bay and a designated refuge island on Boyle Lane.
