Do you know an outstanding neighbour?

Nominations are now open for the City of Gosnells Neighbour of the Year Award, to recognise and celebrate people in the community who go out of their way to help and support their neighbours or improve their neighbourhood.

Acting Mayor Adam Hort said the award also recognises people who demonstrate a sense of pride in their local neighbourhood and a commitment to making it better.

“We want to hear about those who show a willingness to help and support others, particularly vulnerable people,” he said.

“Behind every great community are people who help build connections and relationships in their neighbourhoods and we want to recognise and celebrate these residents.

“Nominating someone isn’t difficult and it’s a great way to acknowledge their contribution to the community.

“I encourage anyone who knows an outstanding neighbour to nominate them for this award.”

To be eligible, individuals must reside in the City of Gosnells and demonstrate exceptional support within their local neighbourhoods over an extended period of time.

Nominations for the Neighbour of the Year Award close on Monday 27 February 2023 and the winner will be announced in the week following Neighbour Day, Sunday 26 March 2023.

The winner, the person who nominated them and their guests will be invited to the Annual Civic Dinner, during which the award will be presented.
