City of Gosnells Deputy Mayor Serena Williamson was recognised by the WA Local Government Association (WALGA) recently, for her extensive efforts representing her community.

Cr Williamson was presented with a Merit Award for notable service and contributions to WALGA, local government and the local government sector.

Mayor Terresa Lynes said the recognition for Cr Williamson was well-earned.

“Cr Williamson’s commitment to representing her community has been unwavering and she is a committed and capable leader at the City,” Mayor Lynes said.

“Her approach is grounded, thoughtful and action-oriented – she shows up prepared, works collaboratively and follows through. Whether she’s representing her community, chairing a regional group or mentoring other women in the sector, Serena leads with purpose and makes every effort count.”

In addition to her role as Councillor and Deputy Mayor, Cr Williamson chairs the Metropolitan Regional Roads Group, has served as President and Deputy President of the Australian Local Government Women’s Association WA Branch and is a delegate to the South East Regional Energy Group.
