Over 200 Gosnells residents learnt about crime prevention and community safety at a recent fun-filled Your Neighbourhood event at Chelsfield Park.

Through its Safe City Initiative, the City of Gosnells hosts the Your Neighbourhood events to give local residents an opportunity to get to know their neighbours, while raising awareness about crime prevention and community safety in a family-friendly environment.

City of Gosnells Mayor Terresa Lynes said the success of the event was testament to the commitment of residents wanting a safer community.

“The Your Neighbourhood events are a great opportunity for neighbours to meet and promote conversation about community and personal safety,” she said.

“We need to look out for each other, and getting to know one another is the first step in staying safe as a community.”

The City partnered with Constable Care and Gosnells District Neighbourhood Watch, who chatted with residents about home safety and provided information packs, and the Gosnells Community Men’s Shed, who assisted with the free sausage sizzle.

All attendees had the opportunity to go in the draw for a video doorbell, which was won by Gosnells resident Christine Randell.

More of the popular Your Neighbourhood events are planned for other locations later in the year.
