People from across the City of Gosnells and beyond are invited to celebrate what it means to be Australian in a diverse, welcoming community at the City’s annual Australia Day Big Breakfast.

Held on Sunday 26 January from 8am to 11am at Centennial Pioneer Park Amphitheatre in Gosnells, the free event will be jam-packed with family-friendly activities, from live entertainment, kids’ craft, roving performances and face painting to an inflatable maze, rainbow arch waterplay, native animal displays and more.

Mayor Terresa Lynes encouraged local residents and people from surrounding suburbs to come along and enjoy the festivities.

“Australia Day provides an opportunity for people from all backgrounds to come together in unity and celebrate what it means to be Australian,” Mayor Lynes said.

“The City of Gosnells is proud to be one of the most diverse local governments in the Perth metropolitan area and, for the past few years, our Australia Day Big Breakfast has drawn thousands from across our community and beyond to celebrate right here in the heart of Gosnells.”

During the event, Mayor Lynes will announce the winners of the 2025 Community Citizen of the Year Awards, which are run through Auspire, the Australia Day Council of Western Australia.

“These awards recognise and celebrate the people and organisations in the local community who go above and beyond to make life in the City of Gosnells better for everyone,” Mayor Lynes said.

The Rotary Club of Gosnells will be serving their renowned breakfasts at an affordable price and coffee and ice cream trucks will offer additional food options.

The City’s Australia Day Big Breakfast is supported by the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council.

This is a free, non-ticketed event.
