Set yourself up for success in the art world with a two-day professional development course for artists and makers, presented by the City of Gosnells.

City of Gosnells Mayor Terresa Lynes said the Essential Art Academy would take place on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 March, at the Thornlie Park Centre in Thornlie.

“The City of Gosnells is home to many fantastic artists and ‘makers’ of all types, producing some fantastic works,” she said.

“This workshop is designed to support our vibrant arts community by providing practical information about exhibiting and sharing your works with the world.”

Essential Art Academy is presented by arts consultant Paula Silbert and covers:

  • Four Drop Dead Essentials for Artists (everything gallerists, funding bodies, fans and your peers totally need)
  • Exhibitions – I want one, but where do I start?
  • The gentle art of speaking confidently about your art practice
  • My Open Studio – tips and tools for a successful weekend

The two-day professional development course costs $10 and will take place from 8.30am to 4.30pm each day.

Bookings are essential and places are strictly limited. For details, visit gosnells.wa.gov.au or call 9397 3000.
