The City of Gosnells is taking the Fusion Food and Culture Festival to a new level of excitement for 2021 – celebrating the sights, sounds and tastes of our multicultural community over two magical nights at Mills Park, Beckenham.

Mayor David Goode said the Fusion Festival, on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 November, will offer a captivating combination of multicultural stage performances, international cuisine, global market stalls, roving entertainment, activities for children and youth, thrilling carnival rides and much more – all culminating in fabulous fireworks each night.

“This year the City is expanding the action by bringing headline acts to the Fusion Stage each night and introducing an exclusive ticketed satellite event just for foodies,” he said. “There will also be the chance to win a dinner party prepared by our guest celebrity chef in your own home.”

The City is currently seeking expressions of interest from multicultural groups interested in taking part in the Fusion Festival as stallholders and activity providers.

Mayor Goode said the annual festival is the City’s showcase event and, after a break last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it would be back bigger, bolder and better than ever.

“The Fusion Food and Culture Festival celebrates the diversity of our community and promotes unity and cultural awareness,” he said.

“The involvement of our local multicultural community groups is an important part of this and the City encourages them to register their interest in providing cultural activities at this year’s event, as part of the Fusion Festival Global Village.

“It’s a terrific way for community groups to raise awareness among a large audience and engage directly with the broader community, often reaching people they may not otherwise have an opportunity to connect with.”

Community and cultural groups are invited to express their interest in sharing:

  • Global arts and crafts
  • Cultural children’s art and craft activities
  • Handmade artisan produce
  • Cultural demonstrations (such as weaving, basket-making)
  • Traditional games

Applications close Monday 20 September. Call the City of Gosnells on 9397 3000 or email community@gosnells.wa.gov.au to find out more.
