Becoming a Library Member

To become a full member with access to the physical and digital collections, library computers, services, programs and events, complete an application form (online, or visit a library) and present it to library staff, along with identification documents with a minimum total value of 100 points. At least one of your identification documents must include your current address. Your signature, agreeing to the conditions of membership, is required.

If you are under 18 years of age your application must be signed by your parent or legal guardian. Their signature means they agree to the conditions of membership as the legal parent / guardian. The parent or guardian must also show identification documents with a minimum total value of 70 points.

Membership is free for permanent residents. You do not have to be a resident of the City of Gosnells to become a member, although a refundable fee is charged to applicants living at a temporary address.

All members receive a library card. You are responsible for all items borrowed on your card regardless of who uses it, so keep your card safe and advise us if it is lost or stolen. You can use the lost library card notification form to do this, or simply phone or email the library.

It is important to keep your membership details up to date. If you change address you can update your membership here or by notifying the library by phone, email, or on your next library visit. Documentary proof of your new address will be required on your next visit.

You can choose to receive reservation and reminder notices via email and if you want to receive notice of forthcoming library events and new titles you might like to sign up for the monthly e-newsletter.

Libr-e-card digital membership

If you’re into using ebooks, digital collections, and other online resources, or you are a regular guest-pass user of library computers, you may prefer to sign up for a Libr-e-card. Complete an application form (see link below or visit a library) and present it to library staff, along with identification documents with a minimum total value of 70 points. Identification documents do not need to include your current address. Your signature, agreeing to the conditions of membership, is required. If you are under 15 your application must be signed by your parent or legal guardian.

Libr-e-card membership is free, but cannot be used to borrow items from the libraries’ physical collections.
