Art 29 is a local arts group who meet weekly to socialise and create artworks of various mediums under the guidance of David Batey.  The group regularly exhibit and sell their artworks as well as entering art awards. The collective mostly paint in acrylics but also use oils, water colours and pastels.

Profile of some of the exhibiting artists

David Batey

David has painted from a young age and works in various arts mediums. Since his retirement he has devoted more time to his art and enjoys teaching others in the Art29 group.

Jude

Jude has been part of the Art 29 collective for 5 years and has found her niche in water colours.  She also enjoys using pastels and dabbles in acrylics. Jude enjoys painting still life and sea scapes.

Rosita

Rosita has been with the group for 6 years and enjoys working in oils and acrylics but will have a go at water colours and pastels.  Rosita likes to paint still life land and sea scapes, buildings and wild life.

Lorraine

Lorraine started out painting china plates over 12 years ago and still does today, but has moved towards painting on canvas.  Her preferred medium is acrylic and her subjects are often plants and animals.

Kathy

Kathy has been coming to Art 29 on and off with Dave for the past 12 years, prefers to work in acrylic doing land scapes and still life.  She also likes to dabble in watercolours.

Steve

Steve joined the group about 4 years ago and prefers to paint in acrylics but has dabbled in pastels and watercolour.  He has a passion for painting ballet dancers, a subject very close to his heart.

Helen

Helen is the new kid on the block and has been with the group for only 7 months.  Helen is currently working in pastels but hopes to branch out into water colours in the near future.

Annette

Annette has been with the group for about 1 year and has created some fabulous oil paintings.  She also likes to work in pastels and prefers to paint anything related to the ocean.

Kerry

Kerry has been attending the art group for more than ten years and works mainly in acrylics. Kerry has sold many art works over the years and although she doesn’t have a preferred subject - she does not paint portraits. Kerry is the group’s administrative person and organises all art entries, exhibitions and social activities.
