Frequently Asked Questions - Children’s Programs

  1. Q - If I don’t have a credit card how can I enrol?

    A – Come to the City of Gosnells Civic Centre, 2120 Albany Highway, Gosnells, to book and make cash payment at Customer Service.


  2. Q - I have a Credit Card but don’t like to use it online can I pay over the phone?

    A – Yes call the City’s Contact Centre on 9397 3000 for phone bookings and payments.


  3. Q – I will miss the first few weeks of term do I have to pay for the whole term?

    A - Call the City’s Contact Centre on 9397 3000 when you are ready to attend, you can book mid-term and will be charged only for the classes remaining.


  4. Q – Are we able to make-up classes we miss during the term on another day?

    A – No, make-up classes are not available.


  5. Q - I am unsure if the program will suit my child, can I do a trial class?

    A – Yes, trial classes are offered at the end of Terms 1, 2 and 3, so that participants will be ready to commence week 1 of the corresponding term.  If you miss these trials you can do your first class as a trial, however, this can only be provided if there are places available in the class (Note: many of our classes do book out) To book a trial class call 9397 3000.


  6. Q – My child is 13 months old, should I enrol in the 9 – 15 months Tumble Tots class or 1 – 2 year class?

    A – The program has an overlap for these two age groups to allow for variation in child development.  Generally if your child is walking confidently they will be best in the 1 – 2 year class.


  7. Q - Are there age restrictions on any programs?

    A – Yes as follows

    • Tumble Tots - is based on development as well as age so it is possible to book into a class above or below your child’s age at the discretion of the instructors.
    • Kindamania 3 – 5 years             Must be turning 3 during the term they are booking into
    • Sporty Kids
      • 3 – 5 years                     Must be turning 3 during the term they are booking into
      • 4 – 6  years                    Must be turning 4 during the term they are booking into
    • Activ Sports  5 – 8 years           Must be turning  5 during the term they are booking into


  8. Q – If I book into a class that is not suited to my child can I change classes during the term?

    A – Yes, provided there are places available you can switch classes at any time during the term Discuss this with the instructors at the class and they will notify the program coordinator; or call 9397 3000.


  9. Q – How long is a Tumble Tots Class and what do they do?

    A – All Tumble tots classes are for one hour, which includes 15 minutes free play at the beginning. The structured class time consists of action songs with music, an extensive climbing circuit, musical instrument and themed play ending with group games. Each of the components varies according to the age group of the class to enhance development accordingly.


  10. Q - What is the difference between Tumble Tots, Kindamania and Sporty Kids?

    A – Kindamania and Sporty Kids classes are also for one hour but there is no free play at the beginning so it is important to arrive on time.

    • Kindamania activities are based on exploring a new theme each week. Themes include Role Play, Building and Construction, Senses, Sport, Coordination, Music, Living Things, Fitness, Craft, Colours and Shapes
    • Sporty Kids activities are based on a new set of sporting skills each week aimed at developing coordination, strength and agility, encouraging team work and enjoying physical activity.


  11. Q – I have two children and have received a discount for the second child in the past, is this still available?

    A – No, with the new fee structure for 2020 / 21 financial year, the second child discount is no longer available.


  12. Q – What is the difference between Sporty Kids and Activ Sports

    ASporty Kids concentrates on skill development, using modified equipment and requires Parent participation. There are classes for 3 – 5 and 4 – 6 yrs which allows for age appropriate development.

    Activ Sports – while there is an overlap of ages between the 2 activities, Activ Sports is designed more for older children, is sports specific, and aims to develop skills and match play in the various sports. 

    While Parents are not required to be involved they are required to remain at the venue to support their child and are welcome to join in if they desire.


  13. Q – If my child is ill for an extended period of time can I get a credit or refund for the classes we miss

    A – Please refer to the cancellation policy in particular points 4, 5 and 6. Please note that each case will be considered individually. If you would like to make and enquiry please contact Customer Service on 9397 3000


  14.  Q - Why have the days for Tumble Tots been changed

 A – Having one age group on each day with multiple sessions on that day, allows us to streamline our activities making them more age appropriate, hence improving child development opportunities. It also provides a range of times to cater for children’s varying sleep patterns.
