Where you park at school matters

Where did you park at school drop off today? The City of Gosnells reminds parents, carers and other drivers to park safely as students return to school this week.

Drivers are reminded to ensure their vehicles do not block a footpath or access way, forcing children to walk in front of cars, and to make sure they do not block the line of sight of pedestrians and other drivers.

Parents and carers are reminded that Kiss and Drop facilities are strictly ‘no parking’ zones, as are yellow lines at the edge of the road and footpaths.

Rangers will continue to monitor parking throughout the school year and issue infringements when necessary, however the City is aware that issuing fines alone will not solve the problem of school parking.

Parents are encouraged to avoid the parking rush by arriving earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon, or take advantage of the warmer weather and walk or cycle to school where possible.
