Popular Australian music icons The Cat Empire have been secured as the 2019 Illuminate Night Party headline act, promising to get the City of Gosnells dancing on Saturday 23 February.

Perth music stalwart Katy Steele, well known as the singer for Little Birdy, will also take to the stage in support.

Mayor Glenn Dewhurst said the free Illuminate Night Party attracted more than 10,000 people last year alone, and is one of the City’s most popular annual events.

“You don’t want to miss out when The Cat Empire and Katy Steele step out on that stage,” he said.

“Both acts are well-seasoned performers, famous for their sense of fun, extreme talent and great music. Make sure you book your free tickets as soon as you can, and get ready to dance the night away.”

Illuminate will take place on Saturday 23 February, between 4.30pm and 9.30pm at Gosnells Oval, Stalker Road, Gosnells. Katy Steele will perform from 7pm, before The Cat Empire take to the stage at 8pm.

Partygoers are welcome to bring along a picnic or, for those who prefer, food trucks will be on hand to fill everyone’s tummies.

Carnival rides will be available for a subsidised price, while a free youth zone and children’s activities will also be available to keep the whole family entertained.

Mayor Dewhurst encouraged audience members to use alternative transport, as parking will be very limited at the venue. The Gosnells Train Station is a short stroll away and Bike Valet Parking will be available for cyclists.

Illuminate Night Party is a free ticketed event. Tickets must be booked in advance through Eventbrite to enter the venue – visit the City’s website at www.gosnells.wa.gov.au for details. The event is alcohol and drug free, and security checks will be in place on entry.

Illuminate Night Party is presented by LiveLighter and sponsored by Lotterywest and Primewest. Ends
