Swing to the music at the Wilkinson Homestead Museum, with an evening of swing dance on Saturday 19 January.

Bring a partner, a picnic and a blanket, join in a 30-minute swing dance lesson, enjoy an exciting demonstration by the crew from Swing It! and finish the night by practising your moves.

City of Gosnells Mayor Glenn Dewhurst said the event was the perfect opportunity for residents who have dreamed of learning to swing dance.

“The Wilkinson Homestead Museum’s current exhibition is all about music and home entertainment, and it’s a fascinating insight into our community’s history that’s worth checking out,” he said.

“Swing dancing was a huge hit in the 1920s to 1940s, and this month’s event will be a great way to really experience history while having a whole lot of fun.”

Swing Dancing at the Museum runs from 7pm to 8.30pm on Saturday 19 January. It costs $10 per person and bookings are essential, by calling 9397 3000.
