Main Roads WA has lifted the five tonne load limit on Cargeeg Bridge in Station Street in Gosnells, following completion of repair works.

The restriction on trucks and other larger vehicles on the bridge was in place for six months, while the City completed structural improvements to the heritage-listed bridge.

City of Gosnells Mayor Glenn Dewhurst said while the closure may have inconvenienced some motorists, the City is committed to ensuring motorists’ safety.

“The original bridge was built over 80 years ago, and a number of modifications to the structure have been made over time as traffic numbers have increased.

“My thanks go to drivers for their patience and understanding while the load limit was in place.”
