Spare winter woollies to spread hope this winter

Published on Thursday 27 June, 2019

As the temperature falls, City of Gosnells residents are being urged to donate their spare winter items to assist local people in need.

City of Gosnells Mayor Glenn Dewhurst has launched a Winter Appeal, which will be coordinated by C3 Church, Langford.

Mayor Dewhurst is calling for donations in a good condition including blankets, sleeping bags, jumpers, jackets, non-perishable food, nappies, unopened infant formula and other winter items that could benefit disadvantaged residents in the community.

“While the City works in partnership with a number of government and not-for-profit agencies to support vulnerable people, there are a number of residents living in our community who are struggling,” he said.

“The Winter Appeal, is not just about giving. It is about being aware of your community and offering your support to people who are doing it tough.

“You don’t necessarily have to give to the appeal to play your part, a smile or a chat could also make a big difference.”

Items can be donated to the C3 Church, 2 Choseley Place, Langford, between 10am – 12 noon on Sundays and between 10am – 2pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The items will be distributed to people in need across the City.
