Did you know there were self-proclaimed Druids in Gosnells? Have you ever wanted to get theosophical with your friends? Have you heard about the Ugly Men’s Society of Maddington?

Join the City in exploring the forgotten history of local societies, clubs and associations at this month’s Local History Talk, on Saturday 12 September at The Agonis, Gosnells.

Mayor David Goode encourages people to come along to hear the previously untold history of these quirky clubs.

“Stories about these clubs form part of our shared history and reveal a lot about our society during particular time periods,” Mayor Goode said.

“Many clubs and societies had a branch operating out of Gosnells during the early 1900s and had a focus on fundraising and giving back to the community.”

The talk will take place from 1.30pm – 2.30pm at the Lyal Richardson Hall, the Agonis, Gosnells.

This is a free event and bookings are essential by visiting the City’s website or calling 9397 3145.
