Work has begun on the City of Gosnells $6.5 million redevelopment of Robinson Park in Gosnells, with Mayor David Goode officially breaking ground this week.

The ‘turning of the sod’ ceremony marked the start of the six-month project to transform the 5.6ha site into a community park and 42-lot residential subdivision.

The City’s Mayor David Goode reminded the community that the site would now be closed to the public during construction.

“Once complete, Robinson Park will be a great space for families with a beautiful nature-based playground, general leisure and community events – the off-leash dog exercise area will also be a big drawcard for dog lovers,” he said.

This large park will feature a children’s playground, picnic areas, barbecues, public toilet, seating, lighting, on street parking, path network and basketball half-court.

The project is expected to be completed by September.
