City of Gosnells pet owners are being urged to check their furry friends’ registrations are up to date, with renewals due by the end of October.

All dogs aged over three months are required to be registered and microchipped, and all cats aged over six months must be registered, sterilised and microchipped.

Pets can be registered in the City for life, three years or one year, with many residents choosing the life-time registration option, which saves time and costs associated with annual renewals.

Mayor David Goode said pets were important to residents and therefore required appropriate care, which included registration with the City.

“We know how much pets mean to our residents, and we encourage responsible pet ownership,” he said.

“It is also a good time for residents who have recently moved or changed phone numbers to check their pets’ details are correct and up to date.”

New pet registrations and renewals can be completed online, by visiting the City’s website www.gosnells.wa.gov.au.
