Step right up and set the plates spinning at the City of Gosnells’ Circus Skills Spectacular on Saturday 19 January.

Children aged between four and 12 years old will have a chance to channel their inner circus star, through juggling, plate spinning, hula hooping and much more by taking part in fun workshops with Ricochet Circus and Circus WA.

Following the workshops, everyone is invited to check out circus performances and the smash hit musical The Greatest Showman (rated PG) at the first Popcorn Cinema screening for 2019.

“The Circus Skills Spectacular and Popcorn Cinema screening will give residents a chance to start the New Year with a bit of flair and a bit of fun,” Mayor Glenn Dewhurst said.

“It really does promise to be a spectacular evening.”

The Greatest Showman chronicles the birth of show business in an original musical inspired by the imagination of PT Barnum, starring Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson and Zendaya.

Popcorn Cinema gates open at 6pm. Residents are invited to bring along a picnic and a chair, rug or beanbag and be mesmerised by pre-movie entertainment including stilt walking and a live circus show on the main stage.

Popcorn Cinema is a smoke and alcohol free community event sponsored by Primewest and Lotterywest and supported by Healthway, promoting the LiveLighter message.

The children’s Circus Skills Spectacular workshops cost $11 each and are suitable for all skill levels. The Popcorn Cinema screening and circus performance are free for everyone to attend.
